Will WL+wBT pair with iPhone5 and S410?
The product page for Wearlink+w BT does not list any iOS devices:
http://www.polar.com/en/products/acc...with_Bluetooth
Will this product work with my iPhone5?

I also use a Polar S410 (with Wearlink coded transmitter). Will Wearlink+w BT pair with the S410?

Ideally, I would like the BT transmitter to pair simultaneously w my iPhone (which is in my bag on the floor) and a wrist-mounted device (that I can see easily).

Finally, how does the Wearlink+w BT comare with H7 when it comes to reliable connections and functioning?

Thanks.

Never mind.

This page most definitely rules out using this product w an iPhone.

I'll ask my questions in the H7 forum.

Wearlink can not be used with iOS as Apple does not allow the particular Bluetooth profile to be used openly.

Much to my surprise and amazement, the S410 works perfectly with the H7!!!
Yippee!!

If the Gymlink is enables on the H7, then the S410 sees the coded signal. Without Gymlink enabled (to save batteries on the H7), the S410 still sees the signal, but it is not coded.

I can now leave my iPhone in my pocket and use the S410 as the remote display device for my workout!!

That's correct.

So the new H7 utilizes Bluetooth Smart - which is an open standard and has been fully implemented in iOS devices (iPhone after 4s).

The H7 will simultaneously sent a 5kHz signal and Bluetooth Smart.

What this means is that it can communicate to any Bluetooth Smart device and will also send a signal that can be picked up by any 5kHz receiver, like 98% of exercise equipment & almost all Polar legacy products dating back 25+ years.

I was not expecting my S410 to work, as it is not listed in the compatibility page:

http://www.polar.com/en/support/comp...&category=faqs

I love my H7. The pairing w my iPhone 5 seems reliable (so far, in my learning-to-use stage. I got my H7 just yesterday).

Now, all I need is a Bluetooth sports headphones and I am all set!!
