Calories Incorrect
I take Zumba classes on a regular basis with others who have Polar heart rate monitors who show about 200 or more calories each workout then I do. The three of us are working at the same intensity and my instructor is saying there is no way I am only getting 200 calories in a hour of Zumba at that high of intensity. I have down the fitness test and all my user settings are accuarte. I have washed the strap, made sure is was wet and changed the batteries. I have also changed places for the strap to see if that helps. Does anyone have any other suggestions? It is very frustrating when I am working out this intense and seeing 200+ less calories than the others in my group who are working at the same intensity.

What is the Max HR setting in the FT40 as it has determined from your Date of Birth? This may not be correct for you.

Do you have the Maximum Heart Limit enabled? This is an entirely different feature than the MaxHR value (feature) mentioned above.

Reconfirm that all of your user settings are correct.

My max heart rate is set to 180 (age 40). V02max set to 41 all other user settings are correct.

Heart rate upper limit is set to Off.

Take a look at http://www.howtobefit.com/determine-...heart-rate.htm for several methods of determining if your MaxHR setting is correct for you.

Many have found the Highest Number and Best Fit Formula to be good sub-maximal indicators for MaxHR.
